At the October 15, 2024 city council meeting, the city council adopted the utility rates for the 2024-2025 budget year. The adopted rates include a raise in the sanitation rates by $2 per month for all customers who have trash carts. The $2 increase reflects a pass-through from Republic Services, our trash provider. Due to rising fuel and employment costs, Republic raised their rates 4.6% in October of 2023 and 5% in October of 2024.
The new rates for City of Big Sandy, Texas customers as of October 15, 2024 are as follows:
